Born in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, on November 28, 1988, the rising B-Town actress Yami Gautam was brought up in Chandigarh.
Her father Mukesh Gautam works as co-ordinator for Zee News channel. She has worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, Kannada and Telugu films. Yami is now focusing on her Hindi films career. Surilie Gautam, the sister of Yami appeared in Punjabi flick titled Power Cut.
Telugu films include ‘Nuvvila’, ‘Gouravam’, ‘Yuddham’ and she is currently filming for the Telugu flick ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’. ‘Ullasa Utsaha’ was the Kannada flick, in which Yami appeared in. Apart from this, Yami is shooting for Tamil film ‘Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum’. As of now, Yami has won four awards, ‘5th Boroplus Gold Awards’ for Rising Film Star from TV, ‘BIG Star Entertainment Awards’ for Most Entertaining Actor (Film) Debut – Female, ‘Zee Cine Awards’ for Best Female Debut and IIFA Awards for Star Debut of the Year – Female. She was doing her studies in Law Honors, when she entered the field of acting at the age 20. Listening music, interior decoration and reading are some of the hobbies of Yami. ‘Vicky Donor’ opposite Ayushman Khurana was Yami Gautam’s debut film in Bollywood. The actress managed to gain much praises for her performance in this film and Taran Adarsh wrote that “Yami Gautam makes an imposing debut.
